"In 2008, defense contractor KBR, Inc. and a Jordanian subcontractor
were accused of human trafficking in a federal lawsuit that alleged 13
Nepali men were recruited to work in Jordan, but had their passports
seized and were sent to Iraq to work on the Al Asad Airbase. 12 of the
employees were then abducted when their unprotected convoy was attacked,
with 11 either being shot or beheaded.
In a show of KBR's reach and power, the lawsuit was dismissed in 2014, with Democratic lawmakers attempting to have the dismissal reversed."
